Dallas-based Yarbrough Law Group PC is announcing the addition of accomplished copyright and trademark litigator Victor C. Johnson, and noted commercial litigation and labor and employment attorney Todd W. Shadle.
“Victor and Todd are two of the top attorneys in their respective fields of law, and we are pleased to welcome them to the Yarbrough Law Group,” says former Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Yarbrough, the firm’s founding partner. “Victor’s expertise in intellectual property matters, and Todd’s extensive work in employment law will benefit all of our clients.”
Mr. Johnson’s practice covers all aspects of complex commercial and intellectual property litigation, including an emphasis on trademarks, copyrights, anti-counterfeiting and brand protection, trade secrets and unfair competition. Mr. Johnson was named as a top trademark litigation attorney in the 2011 edition of World Trademark Review 1000, and he previously earned selection to D Magazine’s, “The Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” list, and the Texas Rising Stars listing published in Texas Monthly.
Mr. Johnson’s career highlights include winning a jury verdict of more than $4 million for U.S. Risk Insurance Group against several defendants for trademark infringement; a $10 million settlement in favor of Exel Transportation (formerly a division of DHL) in a theft of trade secrets and computer hacking case; and substantial work for high-end consumer electronics provider Bose, including winning a $1.24 million judgment and permanent injunction against a group of defendants for trademark and copyright infringement and counterfeit product sales. Mr. Johnson has successfully represented BMC Software (NASDAQ: BMC), TXU Energy, Kinko’s (now known as FedEx Office), United Healthcare, Coach (NYSE: COH) and the Dallas Mavericks.
Mr. Shadle handles executive-level trade-secret disputes and general corporate defense work. He represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters and employment-related issues. In addition to representing employment law clients in arbitration proceedings and courtroom litigation, he also advises companies on investigations, non-compete and non-disclosure covenants, and best practices. Mr. Shadle has defended companies against employee whistleblower claims, state and federal discrimination charges, age discrimination lawsuits and disputes involving the Family and Medical Leave Act. Mr. Shadle has successfully represented clients such as Halliburton (NYSE:HAL) and Mohawk Industries (NYSE: MHK).
“Todd, Victor and our entire team at the Yarbrough Law Group offer tremendous value for companies that need top-tier talent when defending their interests, especially when protecting a company’s confidential information and intellectual property,” Mr. Yarbrough says.
